Laura Jacobus, Senior Lecturer in the History of Art at Birkbeck, asks who were the women who used the chapel, what did they see, and what did they think?

Lecturer

Dr Laura Jacobus completed her BA and PhD at Birkbeck where she now lectures on late mediaeval and early Renaissance Italy. She has been working on Giotto’s frescoes in the Arena Chapel for nearly fifteen years, and has recently published a book on the subject, Giotto and the Arena Chapel: Art, Architecture and Experience (2008).

Attending our Lectures

Lectures are held at The Art Workers Guild, 6 Queen Square, LONDON, WC1N 3AT and will begin at 6pm (except for the AGM meeting which meets earlier in the day).

Society members may attend lectures free of charge, and can invite guests for a fee of £5 each. Visiting full-time students may attend for a fee of £3.

Fees are payable at the door. There is no need to book.
