In this hour-long lecture Mariska Beekenkamp-Wladimiroff will take the time to add some background, context and historical perspective to one of art history’s greatest masterpieces, the poster boy for Romanticism and a painting few actually get to visit in person. This small German gem offers introspection and quiet meditation at a time we all need it!

Lecturer
Mariska Beekenkamp-Wladimiroff read Social Psychology at the University of Amsterdam and later completed her BA and MA in Art History, majoring in art from the 17th century Dutch Baroque, at the Courtauld Institute of Arts in London. She operates independently through her own company – Art Historical London offering art historical lectures, museum visits, courses, tours, travel and events from Amsterdam, London and New York, and since 2020 online. She lectures to various societies and as a lecturer for the public program at the Dulwich Picture Gallery in London.
