In Focus: Caspar David Friedrich’s Wanderer in a Sea of Fog

  • Monday 1 June 2020
    (2-3pm)
  • Lecturer: Mariska Beekenkamp-Wladimiroff

In this hour-long lecture Mariska Beekenkamp-Wladimiroff will take the time to add some background, context and historical perspective to one of art history’s greatest masterpieces, the poster boy for Romanticism and a painting few actually get to visit in person. This small German gem offers introspection and quiet meditation at a time we all need it!

Please note that this lecture will be delivered via Zoom and you will need to be familiar with this app in order to participate – we do not have the capacity to provide any back-up or advice on the use of Zoom.

We recommend that you log on to Zoom 15 minutes before the start time of the event even if you are familiar with the app since the process can take some time if a lot of participants are logging on at the same time.
