What’s on: future Online lectures

Online lectures last for one hour, usually starting at 6pm, and cover an extensive range of topics relating to art and architecture. Members may attend lectures free of charge but booking is required via WebCollect. Please note that online lectures are open to Society members only.

Lectures are delivered via Zoom and you will need to be familiar with this app in order to participate. We recommend that you log on to Zoom 15 minutes before the start time of the event even if you are familiar with the app since the process can take some time if a lot of participants are logging on at the same time.

If you reserve a place you will receive an invitation in advance containing details which you will need to join the event.

A World in Pieces: Medieval Wall Mosaics

Wall mosaics were the most elaborate and probably most expensive form of wall decoration used in the medieval world. This lecture will look to explain something of the beauty and wonder of mosaics – as well as their cultural capital.
