E-News Bulletin December 2024
SOCIETY EVENTS
The Society’s next lecture will be online in the New Year on 7 January at 6pm. Rupert Dickens will talk about Hogarth at the Hustings: the Election Entertainment Series and the birth of political satire. Coincidentally a novel has just been published, Mr Hogarth’s Morning, based on Hogarth’s famous etching, a murder mystery story incorporating themes of social and artistic issues current in the eighteenth century. The author is Thom Braun who has a PhD (History of Art) from Birkbeck.
There are places available for the events offered on the spring programme. If you have not had a chance to look through our upcoming events there is a range of stimulating subjects to choose from. Do have a look on our website.
Please remember that in order to go ahead all our events need to at least break even and therefore we do need members to book as early as possible in order to ensure that events do not need to be transferred online or at worst cancelled.
