Wednesday 17 June 2026
(2pm to 3.30pm) - Peltz Gallery, Birkbeck, University of London, 43 Gordon Square, London WC1H 0PD
- Lecturer: Patrizia di Bello
This is a special opportunity for a tour with Professor Patrizia di Bello of The Project Remains Incomplete: Jo Spence, Curated by Terry Dennett, a restaging of an exhibition curated in 2008 for a photo therapy conference in Turku, Finland. Dennett (1938-2018) nurtured the educational and artistic legacy of Jo Spence (1934-1992) an important feminist photographer, writer, cultural worker and photo therapist, after her death from leukaemia. The title of the exhibition comes from Dennett’s own reflections about Spence’s unfinished Final Project. This restaging, curated by a group of students and staff at Birkbeck, includes material and voices not included in the original exhibition, made possible by the acquisition by Birkbeck of Spence’s archive.
