    (18:00 to 19:00)
  • Online Zoom Event, link details will be emailed to attendees on the morning of the event
  • Lecturer: Juliet Heslewood

Lautrec, an aristocrat from southern France, turned to art as a pastime when his congenital abnormality prevented him following many pursuits. In Paris, to his parents’ dismay, he chose personalities of Montmartre as his preferred subject matter and became a pioneer of modern poster design.

This online lecture will be recorded and available to ticketholders for four weeks after the event.

Lecturer

Juliet Heslewood studied History of Art and English Literature at Birkbeck and later lived for nearly thirty years in France where she devised and led art study tours in six different regions. She has written many books on art and now, back in England, concentrates on public lecturing (regularly at the Ashmolean Museum) and her writing career.
